The average beer distributor operation is relatively modest in size, but their combined economic impact is quite significant, particularly when measured in conjunction with the brewers, retailers, farmers and suppliers.

Beer distributors nationally employ more than 92,000 American workers, paying them more than $4.9 billion collectively in wages and benefits.  The overall economic contribution from America's beer districutors is a whopping $11.6 billion.

Distributors must conform to a myriad of federal, state and local regulations covering when, where , to whom and how their products are sold.  Few other sectors of industry are more highly regulated than alcohol beverage firms.  Nonetheless, the operate in a climage of vigorous and healthy competition and contribute to the economic well being of the state.
